Before moving a year ago, I owned and operated a small care-giving agency with three employees. I had to give up the business when my husband and I moved. I am looking forward to doing direct care-giving again, with an emphasis on companionship and protective supervision. In the past, I have provided assistance with showering, dressing, and ambulation, but now I am interested in less physical duties. I posses qualities such as: good judgement, patience and understanding that make me a very good candidate for positions requiring companionship, providing transportation, light meal prep, medication reminders and protecting safety. I have 10 years of experience working as an Independent Living Skills Trainer and Caregiver to disabled adults and seniors. I have developed great skill in protecting and providing assistance without someone feeling like I am hovering over them or being too intrusive. I am a firm believer in letting people do as much for themselves as they can and wish to do. If their health or safety becomes at risk, I am right there to jump in and help. If someone can do something on their own but just prefers I do it, that is fine also.
