I have been a caregiver for over 15 years. I am very passionate about my work for I have grown up in a home where my mother cared for her grandmother as well as her mother instead of putting them in a nursing home. I helped my mother care for my grandmother (her mother) as well as my other grandmother (fathers mother). Watching my mother care for her mother as well as her mother in-law with such love and tenderness, and watching the happiness that it brought my grandmothers made me feel loved, so I started to help out, and the satisfaction that it gave me was incredible! Just being able to help those in need gives me a sense of accomplishment as well as knowing that I can give them hope in doing things that they thought they would not be able to do. Making them feel comfortable as they age gracefully and giving them the confidence to be able to do things and to continue to enjoy life while they still have it. My greatest satisfaction is putting a smile on their faces whenever and whatever it may be. I love my job and would never trade it for the world, for it gives me purpose, meaning and worth in life.
