While taking care of her there, I discovered that supporting the elderly emotionally and helping with physical needs was easy for me, and very satisfying. I not only supported and assisted my grandmother, but I also made connections with many of the other residents whose family was not around often.

I value my health and I am an excellent cook. I am a yoga teacher, I am in great shape and can easily lift 50 lbs, push a wheelchair, or assist in getting in and out of the car or bed.

I have always easily connected with the elderly and children. I can a support in terms of assisting with food shopping, transporting to appointments, taking care of animals, cooking, etc, but equally as important I can be a friend. I will be a light in someones life, a person whom they can look forward to seeing each day and sharing their stories, history, and feelings with.
