I believe that every person is a special and unique individual deserving of care, compassion and companionship during all stages of life. I know that it's not always possible for family members to care for their aging parents or other family and I feel it's important to find someone who is the right fit for filling in to assist with the senior citizen's care. Trusting a caregiver is possibly the most important factor in hiring. Compassion is equally as important. I like to get to know the family and the individual I'm caring for. It is not a job for me, but a pleasure and an honor to be able to provide needed care and support.
I have spent a good deal of time throughout the years caring for individuals with special needs or physical limitations on a volunteer basis. I lived with my widowed grandfather for 4 years. I cared for an elderly man suffering from dementia for almost 2 years. I am capable of administering medications on time, assisting with bathing, taking care of household duties, and driving someone to appointments or running errands as needed.
I would love the opportunity to serve someone in need.
