I do not have direct prior experience with in home care for seniors. However that being said, I have myself at age 52 experienced a number health issues that I have worked hard to overcome. My own mother was taken by colon cancer at age 62, when I was only 25 years old. That experience plus going through my own physical setbacks later on in life, have fostered a deep compassion and understanding for the individual who needs help with everyday functioning and companionship. I feel that this type of experience would not only benefit the client, but be rewarding and beneficial to myself. I wish to inspire a sense of hope, purpose and renewed spirit to an elderly person who feels left behind by life. These are the qualities I have to offer. In addition I am patient, respectful and responsible. I have a steady prior work history of being employed as a buyer of measuring and testing equipment and also worked as an international sales representative. However, I eventually had to leave my full time position and that high level of office stress behind when I developed cervical dystonia. My dystonia is now under control, but I need employment in an environment that is not extremely competitive, requires meeting deadlines and is not highly stressful where I would need to sit in an office all day long. I need to be up and around doing things in a more productive way, and I actually enjoy cooking and light housekeeping. I hope that my character, outlook and personal characteristics are those that you seek and will outweigh my lack of direct experience.
