I live in Jonestown and am available part time or as needed to assist with meals, checking on the home-based, etc. I have my granddaughter with me most of the time, so an extended period is not feasible right now during the day, as she is my priority. I don't travel farther than the Lago Vista, Jonestown, Cedar Park, or Leander area.

About me:
To begin with, I have never had a formal paid position with elderly companion care. I've always done so for free. As for medical conditions, I've had experience. After 13 years of working medical neglect cases for the Department of Family and Protective Services, and either myself or someone I know having every disease or condition that exists, I feel I'm fully knowledgeable on them all.
I come from a large family that split many times, and holidays were spent with lots of grandparents. I am down to one grandmother, and thank God she is healthy. I was raised by my own grandmother, who died when I was in third grade. I don't recall a time when she wasn't in the bed, dying of cancer. While she initially took care of me, by the last year of her life, I was taking care of her. Those were my best memories.
My aunt died at the young age of 50. She was in nursing homes and I would visit her weekly, styling her hair and her friends' hair for free each time. I completely enjoyed visiting with them. She lived with us the last year of her life. My friend's mother was in a hospice care facility, and with my friend being 5 hours away, I would visit with her mom, run errands for her, bring her things she needed, and just remind her of the old times. I made sure she was happy every time I left.
I understand the elderly, and I respect them. I am a natural caregiver, whether it be children or adults, my friends, or the homeless strangers. I want to help.
