I have extensive experience taking care of the elderly. I have dealt with most types of dementia, including Alzheimer's. I dedicated my life to taking care of my father the last year of his life. He died of renal failure in 1988. I found the experience so life changing that I now only do care-giving to support my family. Since that time I have helped families dealing with ALS, Parkinson's, spinal cord injuries,and other diseases that strike the aged. As a former hospital corpsman I have the equivalent of an LVN license in knowledge and experience, without the certification. I really enjoy knowing that at the end of the day I have made a difference in someone's life. You don't get that kind of a feeling in any other profession.
