All my life I have had an affinity for older people. I seem to have an inexplicable way of connecting with them and quickly establishing a rapport. Though I haven't worked in an assisted living facility, currently and for the past year, I have spent part of each week helping an elderly woman work through years of paperwork, bills, taxes and doing for her what she cannot do alone. I also made home visits to two invalid sisters in their senior years, either reading to them, cooking for them, running errands or tending to any of their other needs. I've also spent some time with impoverished seniors who need financial assistance or help with groceries, electric bill, etc.
