One summer, when I was 16 years old, I completed the course to become a CNA. I never did anything with it, other than work in a private practitioner's medical office during the summers.

I like seniors; they have a lot of interesting things to say, if you take the time to listen. My skills aren't necessarily appropriate for someone who needs a great deal of medical attention. However, I am perfect for someone who is looking for companionship, shopping, transportation, making sure meds are taken, straightening up around the house and other independent living skills.

I have plenty of patience, I am compassionate and very easy to get along with. I believe that laughter is, if not the best, is certainly one of the best medicines. I'm very upbeat and love to laugh.

My primary career was in private investigations, but I worked for a short time (six months) in the vitamin department at Sprouts. Our store was near Sun City and so a large percentage of our customers were senior citizens. Not only did I learn quite a bit about supplements and human physiology in that job; I also learned a lot about senior citizens. There were a few who would ask for me by name when they came in. I always took the time to listen to their problem carefully in order to make the best recommendation I could regarding the vitamins and supplements they needed (or didn't need, as the case may be).

I love to exercise: I walk my three dogs every day, or sometimes take them on a mountain hike or to the dog park. I do photography in my spare time, as well as a lot of reading.
