I have one year experience as a home health aide for the elderly. I am not certified but I have cared for an elder male in his home until he was transferred to his nursing home. My duties was: preparing meals and helping with feedings, helping with bathing (both bed and bath), changing, giving massages to keep blood circulation (since the gentleman was disabled, reading some of his favorite books to him, laundry, running errands and keeping him company along with light housekeeping. The reason why I am so passionate about this position is to be able to help someone as they try to help themselves but also giving them the self respect they deserve. To look at their faces and have it saying "hey you" and to see that smile is so exciting and rewarding to me.
