As a senior ages, having a legal will with a designated person to act as executor of the will becomes essential to protecting finances and property. If a person dies without a will in New Hampshire, their property is subject to state intestate laws. A person's property will be distributed according to a predetermined legal formula. Such laws are based on bloodlines and marriage, but can be rigid and do not take into account actual quality of relationships. A will clearly outlines wishes and instructions for distribution of property or financial interests.
