I have been grandmother's caregiver since she was diagnosed, over a year ago, with muscular degeneration (progressive vision impairment). She has been slowly deteriorating since her heart attack in 2000. I assist her activities of daily living: food preparation, exercise, bathing, and hobbies (cooking, baking, sewing, and reading). Since I was young, I have always wanted to work in the health care field. Taking courses, getting my CNA license, and being able to experience hands-on care with my grandmother has validated my desired career.
