I have always loved caring for others. From taking care of my younger siblings to caring for my grandpa and my elderly neighbor, to my friends nicknaming me "Nurse Sharon", I guess it it is just natural for me. I started taking care of my little cousin, who was physically and mentally handicapped, when I was 14. I also worked in a home with two residents who had special needs, and one of the residents was a senior. He was mentally and physically disabled. He was my friend, and I cooked and cleaned for him and gave him his meds, did physical therapy with him, and played games. He had to be moved with a hoyer lift and needed assistance with bathing and hygiene and toileting and transportation. I worked overnights and day shifts there. My roommate in college had cerebral palsy, and so I assisted her around the house and at school. I took a medical missions course before going to Africa where I learned everything from CPR, to wound care, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease to learning about medicines and labor and delivery. Spending four months in Africa gave me a lot of hands-on experience working with the doctors at the orphanage and assisting them in caring for the 100-plus children, and for the widows and elderly who would come to our clinic. So, if you or your loved one needs help around the home, or you need individual care-giving or someone to be attentive to special needs, I hope that you will contact me :-) I have my own vehicle but it is not in the best condition so I really need to find a position close to home or someone who is willing to come to my home.

I love the outdoors, sunshine, reading, walking, playing games, movies and anything with music.
