I enjoy being around the elderly. They have a lot to give and I myself have learned a lot from them. I have been doing this for 25 years on and off, and each time I go back to caring for the elderly. I also had a home care at my home for a year, and took care of them 24/7, 365 days in a year. They are a joy to be around. I love helping and making them feel loved and wanted and needed. Everyone needs to feel needed and loved. Interacting with them, and if they are depressed, I love doing a one-on-one as I can then pull them out of their depression and move on to something better in the day. It is a joy to see them light up when you walk in a room knowing that you care for them. Giving them their dignity, and letting them talk about themselves and their past make their day. Playing games and cards, talking, reading, baking and letting them help are a plus.
