As a teenager I volunteered in many nursing homes and found it too be a truly rewarding experience. I treasured my time reading for hours and playing card and board games, taking the residents for walks and just listening to all the wonderful stories and memories that they loved to share. Now that my children are grown I would like to pursue a career in caring for the elderly. I truly believe that having the ability to remain in your own home when sick or elderly enhances your quality of life and having the right care giver with you can only enrich it.
