It grieves my spirit to see abandoned and mistreated seniors. Sometimes the family is so caught up with their own lives that they don't realize that mom, dad, aunt, and uncle are not functioning the same as they did before. Because they do not want to be a burden on the family, most seniors do not ask for help. I have always been drawn to seniors because they have a library of knowledge and wisdom that comes through life experiences. It gives me joy to know that I can make a difference in the life of someone even if it is just to talk to them and keep their company or help them with meal preparation and caring for their homes.
