I have cared for my senior neighbor, who has dementia, for about two years now. I have had to do everything from cooking and cleaning to doctor's appointments and bathing. I have worked days and also nights. My love for the elderly started at a very young age, I grew up across the street from a small nursing home in Dolores, Colorado, and I would beg my mom to let me go visit them almost every day. I would spend hours over there when she would let me. This started a love for the elderly that has just continued to grow so I don't just want a job, I want to be a friend to them.
