I volunteer an average of 30 to 40 hours a week at Wags to Whiskers of Texas, a animal rescue shelter in Porter. We handle cats and dogs; I mostly work at the cat shelter and do weekly adoptions at Pet Smart. Animals that we receive can come in bad shape from abuse to pets being out on their own and trying to survive to severely injured. I started pet-sitting to see animals who are loved and appreciated. I needed to see humans who treat animals with love and not abuse. I love taking care of people's pets. I do much more than feed and take care of their basic needs. I play, pet, walk and do whatever the animal is used to when their humans are home. I try to make their time without their owners be as stress free as possible. I also check the mail, bring in the newspaper, water plants, etc.
