Most of my past pets have died of old age, or an illnesses that were treated extensively, but the illnesses were fatal. They were always as comfortable as possible. To me, a pet is a life-long responsibility, and anyone who takes one on should treat them as such. Also, be responsible enough to know they can't do things on there own. They aren't independent. They need us.
