I've had pets my whole life, and have always appreciated having great care-givers for our pets while my family has been away. I try to take that knowledge with me when I watch other people's pets. I recently spent a month as a live-in cat sitter for my boss, making sure her two cats were well-fed and kept entertained. I have also watched dogs on occasion, spending at least an hour upon each visit to make sure the dogs have felt loved and not alone. I do my best to keep to a schedule on these occasions, so the pets I've watched could be sure I'd show up and would hopefully not be anxious.
