I have fostered cats and dogs for a not for profit animal rescue service in MO in 2010 - 2011. I have rescued many stray animals in my neighborhood; my neighbors, Overland Police Department, and the employees at St. Louis County Animal Control can attest to my loving home and loving spirit for animals.
I am considering opening a not for profit to house the pets of women in shelters due to domestic violence in MO where pets can be returned to mom when she is in her new safe home.
I have a 2-year-old German Shepherd who is a rescue. My home is set up with a few kennels in the basement. I have an invisible fence. I also have an enclosed 10 feet/12 feet type fence with a warm shed that is full of straw; it has a doggy door on it. Of course, my dog Cartier mainly prefers the house. He is getting comfortable with a 5 mile evening walk/run.
My "crush breed" is Great Danes.
I'm not a disciplinarian. I don't believe in "hitting" dogs with newspapers or any other object. I found out I disapprove of the Invisible Fence system after it was too late. I am highly capable of following any directions you may have for me. I will happily ruin any new coat just to pet a dog. I'm afraid I have been nicknamed, "the dog lady" by the children in my neighborhood because they find strays and bring them to me.
