I have worked in the veterinary medical health field for 15+ years, starting as a veterinary assistant to formally educated, Licensed Veterinary Technician. I am licensed by the states of Washington and Tennessee, and am in the process of obtaining licensure in Florida. Prior to moving to Florida, I worked in two private practices (veterinary hospitals) and integrated advanced pain management into their anesthesia protocols. Patient comfort/safety are my utmost priority. After college graduation, I was a clinical nursing instructor for the University of Tennessee, College Of Veterinary Medicine. I was a veterinary nurse in the Large Animal medicine and surgery service departments immediately after graduation, then transferred to the Small Animal ICU and Anesthesia departments. In those departments, I received specialized training and experience that enabled me to become a better nurse and patient advocate.

Currently, my husband and I have 2 mixed breed dogs and a young cat. We are unable to have two-legged children, so these animals are our children and we go to great lengths to ensure their high quality of life.

Over the years, I have taken care of pets for family, friends, and other clients. Some of these pets have had special needs, such as complex medication requirements, physical therapy, and wound/bandage care.

While I like to include our "kids" in all activities, I also know what a relief it is to leave them in capable hands. I still worry about them when they don't go with us, but I know they are happier being at home than in a stressful kennel setting.
As a Licensed Veterinary Nurse, I'm what my husband calls, "particular" when it comes to the care they receive. I myself have hired pet-sitters in the past and have had positive and negative experiences. I believe in the saying "You get what you pay for", so I like to think my clients and their pets receive above-standard care.

The first step is to speak with you on the phone and discuss your pets' needs while you are away. Then, if we both are comfortable moving forward, I will want to meet your pets to see if they are comfortable with me being in their home. At that point, if you have dates for pet/house-sitting, I can schedule that for you.

I'll have you fill out care details and contact information in case of minor emergency and have you contact your regular veterinary clinic with payment arrangements in case of a medical emergency.
