My experience caring for pets primarily comes from personally owning pets (of all sorts) throughout my entire life. I've done some paid pet sitting over the past 20+ years, mostly those opportunities came to me, I didn't seek them out.
I'm probably stating the obvious, but I love animals of just about most kinds & breeds. I am a 51-year-old married Mom of 18 & 16 yr old daughters, (who also love to pet-sit), & I am doing this to have some fun & interesting experiences & for spending money for this summer. Our family lives in Chaumont for all of July & August, until Labor Day. then we head back to NJ for school. We will be up a lot Sept-June, since our 18-year-old will be attending Queen's University in CAN.
My daughters & I will care-for just about any kind of pet, as long as it isn't agressive or bites. Growing up, I've had dogs (dachsunds, poodles & lab mix), turtles, fish, a parakeet, & cats. In adulthood & with my husband/kids we have (or have had): a Lab, Terrier mix, Sheltie, Shih Tsu, 2 cats, hermit crabs, gerbils + babies, guinea pig, 2 cockatiels + baby, and a horse!
I'm confident in my experiences and think (my daughters &) I are your gals for pet/house-sitting needs.
