We had gerbils, cats, a dog, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, parakeets and a cockatiel. I've had pets all my adult life and don't think a home is a home unless there is a pet in it. My pet peeve is when you're grieving over the loss of a pet and someone says to you "It was just an animal." They don't understand the bond you can have with your pet and the joy they bring to your life.
