I have had cat(s) since I was born, 31 years. Mostly strays, or unexpected litters. From kittens to mature cats, I've dealt with training; caring for medical needs, such as giving insulin shots; and also the daily general care needs. For about 6 months, in 2008-2009, I volunteered at DAWS. Unfortunately it became too much once I started working and went back to school.
Recently I have been lucky to see how great dogs are. My favorite was a Brussels Griffon puppy I helped raise and train for the first year of his life. After having their first Beagle, my family adopted a young rescue Beagle girl. It has been rewarding to watch the timid, shy, nervous girl make herself at home and comfortable.
Overall I take a lot of pride in my care and concern for an animals well being. Many times I can get along with the animal that isn't "people orientated."
Currently I am a retail employee attending college for a career in health care.
