For starters, my brother bred Chocolate labs all throughout my childhood, and growing up with puppies grew a strong affection for and understanding of dogs. He owned a yellow lab named "Sheba", and her chocolate lab daughter "Bella". I would "dog-sit" for him on any and every occasion possible. We of course had a family dog named "BIas" as well. Later on in life, when I moved back to Juneau, I moved into an room in their house and for half my rent I took care of their Bull Mastiff "Betty", and their bigger than life French Bulldog "Bump". I would walk them twice a day, feed them twice a day, and play with them all day if at all possible. They were in short, my best friends for awhile. Oh, I almost forgot their beautiful English Grey cat "Boots" as well. I have an open schedule, an open heart, and a very well-rounded sensibility when it comes to handling, caring and most of all understanding and communicating with dogs. For the last three years I have lived with my fiance and her two children, along with their old Golden Retriever "Lincoln". It wasn't long before I was taking care of him as well. He loved to fetch, and I love to throw, so we got along great! He is now living with Grandma Judy and working at the Home Depot... and he couldn't be happier! Who would of thought that all this time he just wanted to wear a vest and go to work? I learned quickly that it is easier to think of them as part of the family, and not just as a pet.
