I worked at a kennel called the Barking Lot, in Columbia, SC. It was a place where dogs, cats and birds were boarded and groomed. We walked the dogs in the kennel safely and in the outside kennels, as well. I fed them, cleaned their kennels, played with them and also administered some of the dogs' medications. I had a friend who managed the kennel and worked there since I was 17 years old. I helped her out with the animals, although I didn't actually get paid until 2007. I worked with them until the beginning of the summer. I liked this job more than any other job that I have ever worked. Animals are very calming and relaxing for my spirit and I find them to be very therapeutic. I am a major animal lover!
