My name is Maria. I am a stay at home mom of two teenage children. My children no longer require so much time of me, so I am offering to help other families. I usually do child care but I also do pet care. I currently have 6 pets. Two dogs, two cats and two fish.
My two fish are Beta's and are named Bert and Ernie. They use to be my children's fish but when they stopped giving them attention, I stepped in and adopted them.
My two cats are named Jasmine and Mulan. These kitties were abandoned and we just had to take them home from the feed store. They are beautiful, healthy and have wonderful personalities.
Then we have our two dogs. The first is named Hailey and she is part Blue Heeler and Rottweiler. She has the body of blue heeler and the colors of a Rottweiler. We got her from a friend of my daughter's. We adopted her when she was 10 weeks old and we chose her because she was so active. She is the most loving and protecting dog, I've ever had. My son always tells me that when he goes to college, he is taking her with him. We'll see about that. The newest addition to our bunch is Layla. I've had Layla for about 5 months now and she is part rottweiler and jack russell terrier. She looks like a little mini-cow. White with black patches. Layla and her brother were abandoned on the side of the road and taken in by a nice lady. She put an ad in the paper to re-home them and I adopted them both. Sadly, that night, before I could even take them to the vet the next day, Layla's brother, Levi, fell very ill. We rushed him that night to the emergency pet hospital and unfortunately, we had to put him down. That was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I cried my eyes out over Levi and held on close to my little Layla. What I didn't mention earlier is that I had just lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's and it had been a very difficult and depressing time for me. I never got to grieve the loss of my grandmother until that night when they put Levi down. My little Layla was there for me and helped me to get thru that very difficult time. She has been a joy ever since. I love her to death as I do all my babies. Well, that's my story and I just want to let you know that I love pets of all kinds and would love the opportunity to help others who can't always be there for their loved ones. I am very caring, loving and responsible and would love the opportunity to help you too.
