I have owned dogs and cats all of my life. I looked after pets for two co-workers when they went away on vacation. One situation, with cats in her home, I fed and watered the cats and cleaned out their litter boxes. The cats varied in age from a young kitten to a senior boy. Another job was a dog that I took care of in my home, and he was a little scared to be away from his parents, so I allowed him extra privileges like sleeping outside his crate and full attention when he needed it. I also have the experience of walking larger dogs. I am a volunteer at a pound and brush all the cats once a week. All the cats are in one communal room, and brushing them relaxes them and seems to make them sleepy. It cuts down dander in the small room, and makes the cats more attractive to potential adopters. It also means each cat is well handled at least once a week. I am qualified as a certified nursing assistant and have wide experience of looking after adults, but my patients sometimes had pets. I was only too happy to attend to their pet. I love animals for the unconditional love that they bring, and it is my greatest pleasure to look after their needs.
