A little about me ... I 'm 51. Happily married for 22 years. No kids. Twin Cities native-lived in Minnetonka 21 years. Ridiculously reliable. Live 5 minutes west of 494 & Crosstown. Nearly an acre fenced backyard backing up to Purgatory Creek Park. State-of-the-art ADT centrally-monitored security system (intrusion, fire, CO2, water). Red Cross Pet First Aid Certified. Our own dogs are well socialized & used to guest pups.

Why I 'm different ... I 'm a full-time telecommuter (project mgr) for the last 11 years, home with the dogs all day. Throughout the day we go out for potty breaks & play ball/Frisbee over lunch. The dogs hang out with me during the day in my office. We are a house of routines which dogs seem to thrive on. A new dog generally takes a day or so to get used to the routine, taking his/her cues from our dogs & settles in easily.

I started dog-sitting when I realized how difficult it was every time we wanted to go on vacation. We've had many special needs dogs over the years (blind, deaf, separation anxiety, incontinent) & you just can 't drop them off at a typical kennel. Well, you could, but for me it would spoil my entire vacation knowing they were there! I don 't try to fit every circumstance. I like to just have 1 guest dog so that they get the right amount of attention. I do my best to follow the same rules you have in your home. What time(s) do they eat? Allowed on the furniture? Sleep in bed with you or in a crate? I have an 8 page questionnaire you complete before your first booking that gives us information like vet, emergency contacts, etc. but also asks more probing questions about behavior & routines.

I insist all potential clients stop by for a site visit to give you a chance to meet me & our dogs a chance to socialize before your first booking. To protect our own dogs, your dog must be current on all vaccinations, heartworm, flea & tick.

Ultimately, my goal is to establish long term relationships with my clients, getting to know them & their dogs, making it easy for them to plan time away, knowing they have a trusted place for their dog to stay when they 're away. It 's easy, I simply use the Golden Rule & treat you & your dogs the same way I 'd like to be treated!
