Animal care has always been a part of who I am. I have been involved in rescue groups, shelters, etc., for over 25 years. I am currently a member of a Collie rescue and other animal rescue groups and shelters and owned a formerly abused Collie who has just passed away recently. I presently care for many pets that are either rescues or shelter pets.
I have volunteered for and worked many years at kennels, shelters, or in communities. I volunteer at a county animal shelter and am starting back volunteering there in Spring. In the past, I had worked with and helped with animal control and emergencies in the village where I lived.
I have had pet First Aid, emergency, disaster training in past years and have currently taken updated training in behavior classes and CPR/First Aid, and was re-certified by the Red Cross. I have taken care of many pets, both dogs and cats, that have needed on-going medical care and post surgery care. That has included sub Q fluids, medications, shots and wound care. I had nursed my own cat who went through renal failure (CRF) and FIV, and my Collie, who had vestibulitis, and had some GI problems, IBD, age related issues, deafness, surgeries and arthritis, so giving medications, shots or other medical needs is not a problem at all for your dogs and cats. I presently care for many dogs and cats that need extra TLC or care for different reasons.
Also, I feel a strong commitment to making a difference in animals' lives, and that is why I have volunteered my services through the years and have always owned abused or rescued animals. I have experience both with small and very large pets and also with young and the senior pets. I care for your pets with the same TLC that I have always shown my own. I will work with your pets schedule, comfort level and type of care you want, and also can help if needed with training where you may need it.
I make sure your pet(s) are well taken care of, which will allow you to leave them and feel confident they are happy while you are gone.
I have very good professional and personal references, if you would need those. Basically, I feel that your pet is part of your family and should be cared for as such. If you have any questions, please ask away. Thank you!
Lea-Ann
