My name is Laura and I have resided on my farm for 15 years.
I have loved animals since kindergarten when I got my first kitten. Since then I have had animals of all kinds, dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, a skunk and horses to name a few.
I am studying to be a Parelli Natural Horsemanship Instructor. For those unfamiliar with Parelli, it is a program to help teach people to teach their horses through love, language and leadership emphasizing a natural approach to communication using psychology.

I pet sit because I love animals of all sorts. The additional income doesn't hurt either. I have cared for friend's pets and horses time and again, and have one regular client whose animals I have tended to for 10 years.

In the course of caring for others animals, I have had to deal with numerous emergencies. On on occasion a horse got caught in a fence line just after the owner left. Her farrier called me to let me know the horse was freed but wounded. I tended the wound and administered medication for these folks for 3 months after the job ended as the horses owner was on crutches and unable to do this for herself. Once, a waterline broke and I had to make arrangements for repair and on another occasion a client had just inherited a pit bull she was terrified of. By the time the couple returned from their cruise, I had him sitting and waiting for his meals, grooming and handling.

I have often cared for animals with special needs. I fostered cats for the humane society. Many of the dogs we got off the track at Greyhound Pets of America came to us with a plethora of issues such as broken legs, flesh injury, brain injury, seizures, dietary issues, and gastrointestinal distress to name a few. I have rescued several cats, dogs and a donkey who was so starved and whose feet were in such bad condition that the vet recommended I not. Most recently I was asked by county Senior Services to foster 2 cats as their owner was no longer able to keep them.

I am reliable, knowledgeable and caring. Should you decide to allow me to care for your pets I promise you I will not disappointed you.
