My passion for animals all started when I was 13 years old and I got my first dog, Speed. Speed would go anywhere possible with me. School was just about the only time we were not together, and I could not wait to get home because I knew he was waiting for me. Spending time with Speed quickly became the highlight of my days. I would spend hours teaching him different tricks and we both became really good at our jobs; mine being teaching and his being learning. Speed was 8 when I had to put him down for medical reasons, but by that time, I knew I wanted to work with animals.
I now own three dogs and two cats. Back in October, the company I had been working at for seven years closed its doors. I diligently looked for another job, but to no avail, and I knew I had to do something. I started thinking about how I could make some money. Walking with my dogs has always been one of my favorite hobbies; I started to spend hours a day walking them, trying to figure out what to do about my situation. I started training them as I had trained Speed, and people would stop and comment to me on how well behaved my dogs were and they wished their dogs were like that. That's when I got the idea to start my dog walking business. I could make money doing what I loved. I am now walking a minimum of seven dogs each day, usually for 30 minutes in the late morning and 30 minutes in the early evening, but I also keep into consideration that everyone has a different schedule, so I work with my clients on how often, how long, and how many times per day I walk their dogs.
In addition to daily walking, I also board dogs when their owners want to go out of town. I will keep them either at my house with me for the vacation period (where I have a designated dog room), or they can stay at home and I will make proper arrangements with their owners as to what they want me to do to care for their dogs while they are away.

I am learning to become a decoy for Schutzhund training. I like bowling, shooting pool and training my puppy for competitions.
