Lab, Shepherd, Retriever, Malamute, Husky, Chihuahua, Poodle (large and small breeds), Pit Bull, St. Bernard, Beagle, Chow, Jack Russell, Vizsla, Pug, Lhasa Apso, Doberman, Bassett Hound, and many combinations of the above! Tasks include everything from dog walking to live-in care while owners are on vacation or in a couple of cases the owner had to be hospitalized for what they thought would only be 2 weeks but turned out to be for 2 months. I definitely work on an on call/emergency basis and find that to be extremely necessary in this line of work.
-Cat breeds I have taken care of are also too many to name. I have personally owned Siamese, Tabby (both long and short hair), Maine Coon, and American Short Hair. Tasks include scooping the litter box daily (or sometimes more depending on the number of cats), feeding, giving fresh water daily, letting in and out (if they are indoor/outdoor), brushing/grooming, administering medication when needed, etc.
-Horse breeds I am experienced with are Quarter Horse and Pony. I used to live on a small farm where I took care of 3 Quarters, 1 Pony, 3 dogs and 6 cats. My tasks included waking at 5:30 a.m. to blanket each horse and take them to their paddocks where they would be fed alfalfa grass. I would then clean their stalls. The pony was also fed out in his own pasture and I would walk around with the wheel barrel to clean up the waste. I absolutely love working with horses!
Starting Jan 2, 2012, I am looking for a live-in full time position where my room and board is paid for in exchange for taking care of your animals on a regular basis as well as on an on-call basis for longer care when you are away from home. I have one cat who would also be a part of the family, so quarters would have to be suitable.
I look forward to hearing from you and building a lasting relationship based on the needed care of our most treasured friends!
Sincerely,
Kate D.
