I have been around dogs and cats all my life. I grew up with a chocolate lab named Lady. For a brief period, we had another lab named Gracie. After Lady passed away, my family adopted a stray black lab which we named Maggie. In between having Lady and Maggie, we got a schnauzer named Gunther. For my 18th birthday, I got a Yorkie which I named Mikey. Currently, we have Gunther and Mikey living with us. When I was younger, I had two cats name Sunshine and Missy. I have never cared for any exotic pets, although I would not be opposed to it. I take care of neighbor's pets in my area by letting them out of their cages, playing with them outside, and just sitting with them in the house so that they have some company. I also adore being outdoors, so as long as your pet is leash-trained, I would be happy to take them on walks.
