I graduated from vet tech school and worked as a veterinary technician from 1993 until 2001. My pet-sitting experience includes: a diabetic cat that required insulin shots, allergy shots given to a golden retriever, newborn Bengal kittens, Great Danes, geriatric pets and special needs pets (medications, special food or eating schedule, limited mobility, recent surgery, etc.). Last summer, I took care of a whole farm for a week which included: horses, goats, chickens, baby chicks, dogs, cats and a ferret.
I have successfully caught and tamed two feral kittens/cats and they are now my very loving house cats. I had a dog for 13 years, which I fully trained and he was a superb companion (he sadly passed away in 2003). In 2006, I bought my first horse, which was a rescue. I have spent the last two years working with him (this included proper nutrition, muscle building, basic training, respect and trust) and absolutely enjoy my time teaching him western pleasure techniques and trail riding with him. All of my pets have always been constantly loved on, spoiled and very well cared for. I treat everybody's pet as if they were my own.
I worked for a pet-sitting business for about a year in 2004. I had a background check done for this position. My general duties included daily visits to homes at specific times for general care, exercise, feeding, walks, cleaning, playtime, etc.
I live in Mooresville and currently work for a college which allows me to be off for the summer and quite a bit during the school year (fall break, Christmas, spring break, etc.). I am off for 3 weeks in December for holiday pet-sitting. I am off the first week in March and I am off for the summer (June, July and most of August). When I am working, I am free most evenings and weekends. I am single and have no children (except my four-legged furry ones!) so, aside from working at the college, my scheduling is fairly flexible. I am a mature 39-year-old female. I am college-educated, neat, clean and organized.
If my schedule "works" with you and my experience is adequate, please feel free to email me back with job details/requirements and any questions you may have for me. My rates are always negotiable from job to job, depending on being paid weekly, by the hour/visit, or the entire job as a whole. Please contact me first so we can discuss what you need and agree on a fair compensation. Thank you!
