I am a dog lover and have had pets (dogs) all of my life. I have owned shelties primarily. My last two dogs have retired, and I am looking to help others with their pets. I am currently walking a friend's dog, a doberman, and am really enjoying it. This job just fell into my lap, and it has been great. I frequently keep another friend's dog for vacation spurts. His dog recently had cancer and is recovering nicely. I have become an integral part of this dog's life. I am his "home away from home". What is nice about keeping a dog at my home is that they get more freedom. They can stay inside (if housebroken), and are not kenneled all day long. This kind of work just came to me, and I am really enjoying getting to know so many animals. Dogs are unconditional lovers of humanity, and it is a real treat to just love them back and enjoy the simple things in life. I enjoy walking, and have a park across the street from my house. I am in a "dog-walking" neighborhood. My neighbors see me with lots of different dogs, so they know what I am doing.
