I have worked for several years as a Veterinary Assistant and Kennel Manager at an emergency clinic, and was laid off. I also attended Veterinary Technician School in Florida, but did not complete it, as I moved to NC. I have several animals of my own, including two cats (one of which I hand raised from a week old), two ferrets (one of which had only three-legs). I used to have a dog and a parakeet, but the dog passed away from old age last October, and the parakeet died from a mysterious ailment in December. My horse of seven years died from cancer several years ago, so my menagerie is vastly reduced, but I have experience with several different animals
