As a pet owner myself, I completely understand the importance of seeing and loving your pets as if they're your own flesh and blood. I know its cliche but its realistic to say: Animal-lovers truly believe their pets are part of the family and love them like their own children. This explains why I feel like "mom" 2 my 2 cats Kit-Kat and Mookie and my dog Diamond.

As long as I can remember I've had pets all my life mostly dogs, cats, domesticated rodents like hamsters & parakeets. To be honest, I'm mostly experienced with cats and dogs because those are the two types of animals I could have when I used to live with my mother.

Cats and dogs-must be fed at a set time, be played with and get their visits to the vet to make sure they're healthy and watch for health problems.

Difference between them-the cat's litter box must be changed every time it's used and the dog (some breeds, not all of them) must have his daily walk I think at least for 2 hours.

Diamond (a boxer & staffordshire bull terrier mix) I had her for 8 years since she was a puppy until she died from cancer in 2008. Trust me I was devastated. She was fed twice a day Evo for dogs, walked for a total of 2 hours a day, played with at least 90 minutes day, slept in my bed every night, was given her own sofa, knows basic commands and walked well on a leash-pretty much spoiled rotten. I read everything there is know about boxers, staffordshire bull terriers and mixed-breed dogs and dog training. I miss her dearly everyday but on a positive note she taught me everything there is know about responsible dog ownership.

Mookie and Kit-Kat-both adopted out of an Adoption Agency this past year and a half and the only animals I'm allowed to have at the moment.

Mookie-the grey tiger is diabetic, 10 years old, eats 2-3 cans daily, drinks lots of water, spends all day watching the birds on the window, and gets his insulin 2x daily. Not my fault he's like this it was his previous owners fault before I adopted him according to the woman who adopted the cats out to me.

Kit-Kat- the black one is moody, meows a lot in competition for my attention, is a snacker when it comes to food, gets petted on her own terms and sleeps a lot.

I learned from my experiences with my pets that once you have a pet 100% is all about commitment emotionally and financially.
