I live in Dunkirk with Bella, a Chiweenie, Rufus a Papillion and MoJo a Bulldog rescue. My "grand-dogs" Lola, an Italian Greyhound and Pepper, another Papillion, often visit while their people work. We also own two horses, and in the 27 years that I have lived here, our roomies have been several cat friends, rabbits, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, snakes, a shrew named Drew, iguanas, parrots and rats. We have had many pets and cared for them all, through old age and illnesses. My experience is long and varied with a love of all animals.

Pepper is 11 years old and has been diagnosed with liver disease and anemia. She is currently on daily meds and a special diet. We have to constantly keep track of her blood/oxygen levels and try to keep her as comfortable as possible. She does not have many teeth left and requires a soft food diet with supplements, and has doctor visits several times a month. So far she is doing as well as expected. Update on Pepper - on Jan 30th she died due to complications of her illness. She will always hold a place in our heart and has left a deficit in our lives. We are all better pet owners for knowing her. RIP Pepper Ann!

Bella was born deaf and does not see very well, especially in the dark. She has learned different hand signs, and knows her way around the house well. Outside she is a little timid, but will follow the other dogs. She always goes for walks with another dog, they are her ears, and she reacts when they do.
