I've had pets pretty much my entire life, and I've worked professionally with both domestic animals as well as wildlife.

I worked for PETCO for nearly 5 years, where I held the positions of Companion Animal Specialist and Customer Advisor. If customers had a lot of questions, I was generally who they spoke with. I advised customers on a variety of subjects: food and nutrition, grooming, teething/chewing habits, allergies, enrichment, medications, crates and kennels, and how to understand their pet's behavior.

I have worked at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary for almost 4 years as a Visitor Specialist, which involves assisting the Animal Care staff when necessary, along with animal socialization. I am a Level 2 Bird of Prey handler, and have handled different falcons, owls, and hawks. I have experience handling aggressive snakes, both while at PETCO and at the Wildlife Sanctuary.

I've kept several species of animals as pets: cats, dogs, ferrets, birds, hamsters, reptiles, and fish.

I consider my knowledge of animal care well above average, though there is always something new to learn every day.
