I could be available in the morning for a few hours or for after school care; or some evenings and/or weekends. I am a natural care-giver. I'm warm, cheerful, compassionate, honest and dependable. I'm 50 years old, married to a wonderful husband and have two step sons 21 and 29. I am the second youngest sibling in a family of nine children. Over a 38 year period I have cared for infants, toddlers, tweens, teens and adults including my younger brother, an older brother with special needs, 19 nieces, 8 nephews, my parents and many friend's and neighbor's children. I am very active and will engage the kids in activities. I have many hobbies, walking, swimming, sledding, sewing, quilting, dancing and music, so I will not sit around and watch TV or play video games. I also provide in- home pet care services for dogs and cats.
A little more background on me...
After 23 years of a successful career in telecommunications, in 2007, I left the corporate world and a six figure salary- to dedicate my time and talents to work full time toward ending violence against women and children in our community. I am one of the co-founders of a local not for profit called Stand Up Guys here in Rochester. In 2007, on a volunteer basis, I began working on building the infrastructure to support our mission including recruiting a board of directors, leading and establishing executive committees, and engaging a consultant to facilitate and assist us in developing our 3 year Strategic Plan. Stand Up Guys promotes healthy relationships and safety by raising awareness at health fairs and community events, and, we deliver formalized prevention and intervention training programs in schools, colleges and workplaces. As a survivor of domestic violence, working to end domestic and sexual violence against women and children has become my life's work and I put in about 30-35 hours at Stand Up Guys- However, I need to make a living and pay the bills too! I'm offering my care giver services for $15 per hour.
