I put myself through college, graduate and law school working whatever odd jobs I could find and house sitting, pet care was just one of them. I babysat, did errands, professional shopping, ushered in theaters, waited tables, drove tour buses, whatever came up, cleaned houses, served parties and cleaned up, jack of all trades. I am a nonsmoker long time Marin resident who has been working at Borders Books FT as a bookseller. I live in Central San Rafael and limit myself to house sitting jobs that are easy to get to and easy to park off street. I don't charge that much but location is everything with me. I bring everything with me bedding, food, towels, etc. I have myself listed in the YP/ATT as Angela Law Graduate house sitting under pet care sitting services. I have references with 20 years service, caring for their cats. I enjoy cats and dogs but I do work and many times dogs need more attention and require a dog door to go in/out at will so I go to the home, meet the pets, and get a sense of the individual job's requirements and then give an estimate depending on what all is involved and length of time I will be needed, etc. I am mature, cautious, careful, respectful, and owners come back to find their home in the condition that they left it in. I have a lot of repeat business and enjoy this as a sideline. I am a Louisville, KY native and a world traveler and was in the Teacher Corps/ Peace Corps. I got most of my education at SUNY Buffalo but came to CA in 1986 and really love CA and feel fortunate I have been able to remain in Marin despite the high cost of living. Pet care and house sitting helps me enjoy my life in Marin and this is why I have continued to work in this area of providing good care for pets and also care for homes and children too. Borders Books went out of business so I am working a lot of different part-time jobs while on unemployment and searching new career opportunities. Pet sitting has been a steady constant in my life particularly in the economic situation our country is in presently. Everyone has to be flexible and creative these days to make a living. I am just happy to have found Care. com to help make that happen for me. I've been back to KY to visit my mother in metro Louisville and catch up on friends' lives from high school and just happened to catch the TV commercial, so I am excited about Care. com and am happy to participate.
