Ana C.

This past weekend (weekend of May 11th-14th) My Husband and I had a trip planned to meet our friends who were flying in from Belgium to Las Vegas to celebrate my Birthday. Unfortunately, our son's cat (Duke) whom we are caring for while he is on deployment, had been experiencing fevers and was just placed on an antibiotic due to an infection he developed. After much deliberation about whether or not to cancel our trip, we looked into boarding him at the local Veterinary Office, so he could be "observed" (temperature taken and meds given) and I made the necessary arrangements. However, on Thursday morning, I learned that he would be left alone from 5pm to 9am, in a cage, in an empty building (on Sat & Sun), without any human interaction or anyone to watch over him in case there was an type of emergency!! I did not feel comfortable putting him in the boarding care especially when he was starting a new medication and he would be left alone for 15 hours a day! My friend was staying at our home with the other animals; however, she had no experience taking the cats temp or administering medication. I thought for sure we would have to cancel our long planned trip. I had no idea what we were going to do. On Thursday night (May10th), I looked on care.com and I found Ana. I sent her a message describing our situation. We let her know we would be leaving on Saturday morning and returning Monday night and we were desperate to find someone!!! On Friday morning she called and just as we agreed, she was at my home at 6pm Friday so we could meet and discuss the care that was needed for Duke. I am a pretty good judge of character: I was instantly impressed, not only with Ana's abilities and her past work experience caring for animals, but also with her "character" in general. Ana is a very kind person and she genuinely cares and loves animals!!! Joey (my dog) loved her right away!!!. As agreed, Ana came to our home each morning and each evening at a specific time to care for Duke: give him his medication, make sure he had fluids, make sure he was eating, to take and record his temperature and to make a determination during each visit how he was getting along and whether he needed immediate medical care. She also took the time to play with my dog, Joey (even though she wasn't expected to play with him) and give him extra attention, as he was missing us!! Each day, I received updates from Ana via text and she also surprised me with photos of Duke, so I knew he was doing well. I felt extremely comfortable going away on our weekend trip knowing that Ana was there to look after Duke and I was able to relax and enjoy my trip knowing he was in good hands!! She also let me know that if there were any problems, she would accompany my friend to the Emergency Vet with Duke and remain with him until I could get home should the need arise!!! Fortunately, Duke's antibiotics kicked in quickly and he is doing very well now. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ana for Pet-Sitting. She is experienced, caring, trustworthy and dependable!!! Most importantly, she knows what to do in case of an emergency or if an animal has special needs!!!! I think most animals prefer to remain in their familiar surroundings, especially if they are not feeling well, but finding a place to care for them if you have to go away, is very difficult. I was blessed to find Ana!!! Thank you again Ana, and I do hope we continue to keep in touch. You were a lifesaver for me this past weekend and I just can't Thank You enough for helping us!! I now know that if the need ever arises again, there is someone I can call to care for the animals rather than having to leave them in a boarding facility. I also made a "friend" in the process!!! Ana currently walks my dog daily and I am very pleased with her services. My little dog is very fit and happy. I can tell he is getting a great walk and play time with her by how much energy he has when I get home and how well he sleeps at night. He runs to his crate now when I leave for work, which he was not doing before he had Ana's walks to look forward. Ana is very reliable and takes great care of my precious pet!
