Hello! My name is Alina. I am a 23-year-old, second-degree nursing student at St. Louis University. Prior to studying nursing, I double-majored in Spanish and philosophy and religion at Ursinus College in PA, with a minor in biology. I graduated last spring, but have decided that nursing is the right path for me. I am CPR and EMT certified and serve on my local First Aid squad, and absolutely love helping people (and animals!)! I hope to work as an emergency room nurse when I graduate next year.

I am from New Jersey and have never known a life without pets. We've always had at least two dogs of our own at home, as well as cats, rabbits, birds, and fish! Currently, we have three dogs (a 3-year-old male standard poodle, Bernie, a 6-year-old female labradoodle/mutt, Bella (we're not exactly sure what she is!), and Doodle, a 7-year-old male daschund who is both blind and deaf). Bella and Doodle were both rescued from the pound. Just this past summer, Bernie suffered a terrible illness for a month or two, so we were all up day and night taking care of him, giving him medicines, etc, but now he is all better! (For a while, they didn't think that he would live.) We also have two cats, Molly and Sophie, whom we rescued from the outdoors. Molly is Sophie's mother, and she is also diabetic, so she receives insulin shots twice daily. Other than that, we currently also have a rabbit, Meeko, and a parakeet, Turkey. Quite the collection at home! I miss them all so much!

My family has also developed our own pet care business in the past 5-10 years. We have had as many as 10-12 dogs at our house at a time! Everyone always gets along great with each other because my mom has developed a system as to how to integrate each new pet. We've had some very happy customers!

I am hoping to continue my mom's "business" here in St. Louis and provide pet care for anyone who may need it! I live in an apartment near SLU with one roommate, who is also a nursing student and an animal lover! Currently, we do not have any pets of our own, but our apartment does allow animals and we are considering adopting a dog sometime in the future.
