Tery M. B. - Denver Pet Sitter or Dog Walker

Profile of Tery M. B.

Part-Time, 10 + Years of Experience

My coworkers asked me if I would be willing to do this kind of work because I had an 80 mile one-way commute and it was a win/win situation. I found that I enjoyed the variety of people and pets I met. I've always been an animal lover. My dog died about a year ago. I moved into an apartment and can no longer have a dog, so it's nice to be able to spend time with other peoples' pets. I have cared for or raised my own cows, horses, goats, sheep, snakes, lizards, parrots, dogs, fish, cats, pigs, guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters, parakeets and cockatiels. I'm sure I'm forgetting something! My son had a black widow spider we took care of until her death. While I don't have pet first aid certification, I have worked for a veterinarian and have done an extensive amount of home care. I am comfortable with administering medication in pill or shot form, dressing, bandaging and caring for wounds and am capable of assessing medical emergencies. I treat animals with the same respect I treat people. My goal, as your pet and house sitter, is to provide the same care and schedule as you do in order to keep your pet as stress free as possible. When house sitting, I leave your home exactly the way you left it so you shouldn't even see trash from my stay. I find that staying in your home while you're gone is helpful in alleviating stress on your pets, as well as being cheaper overall for you because I'm not having to make numerous daily trips. When house sitting, I charge by the day rather than by the hour.
