Hi there!
My name is Kimberly Sharber, I have a Registered Home Daycare in Canyon, Texas. I have 2 Associate Degrees in Education as well as my Bachelor's Degree from West Texas A&M University. I have many years of experience with kids. I have helped care for children with varying degrees of disabilities and challenges, which my education has equipped me with the skills to navigate. I have a hands-on approach with kids, we learn by seeing and exploring together. I have 4 iPods, 3 laptops, and 3 tablets I allow the children to use throughout the day (lets face it, this is the world they live in) but we by no means "veg-out" on them all day. I challenge the kids to focus on what piques their interest and become their own little "expert" on that. I nourish their internal motivations, setting them up for success to follow their dreams.
I am BIG on communication. It is not uncommon to receive 10 texts from me throughout the day. I like just letting you know what milestones are being met and just how our day is going. Do I expect a response every time? No. But if I were the parent, I would hope for the same respect from my sitter. I hope to keep the connection between parents and children as strong as possible! I am here to enhance your lives and help facilitate the hopes and dreams you have for your child. I have 3 iPods for Facetime or 3 Laptops that can be used for Skype'ing, even if its for your littlest newborn. Sometimes nothing can comfort you like seeing your child's face. We travel and explore the world around us, together. I have an active membership to the WTAMU Activity Center & Don Harrington Discover Center. Other places we frequent are Free Mondays at the Amarillo Zoo, $2 Tuesdays at the movie theater, Palo Duro Canyon, SPLASH! Waterpark, Wonderlad, and the High Plains Museum. We also take almost daily trips to the park, weather permitting.
I am available Days, Evenings, Overnights, and Weekends.
