When we do pre-screen, what do we look for?
During the pre-screening process our CareForce team:

We registered with Kidz Dropin to use as emergency backup for when our nanny calls in sick. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly - it is a place that I felt comfortable leaving my daughter.
We were told when we registered that they would be able to accommodate a last minute request about 9 times out of 10, even though they usually need reservations several days in advance. So far, we've called three times and been denied all three times. After pleading with them, we convinced them to take her once. Don't count on them for an emergency backup situation, they're just not set up for this type of service. Two days notice doesn't count as emergency backup in my book.

We used Kidz drop in regularly for about 6 months. Our daughter was always happy and had stories to tell when we picked her up. Her favorite thing was the indoor gym. We went at more or less the same days/time but the teachers were different most days but there were a couple recurring faces. Our daughter seemed to like all the teachers. When we started going in Jan. they gave out slips to tell you the general activities that the child did and what they ate. But we stopped getting them around the end of Feb. We stopped using them because of the distance, we would still be using them if there was a location closer to home/work. The one negative was that if our daughter ate a meal there it was (I think) $4/meal on top of the hourly charge but our daughter is the pickiest eater and wouldn't actually eat anything but we still had to pay for it. I asked if she could opt out since I picked her up shortly after lunch anyway or if she could bring her own lunch and they said no. Overall, we were very happy with Kidz Drop In we just wish it was a little closer, maybe in West Aurora?! : )
