I started cleaning houses 15 years ago. I needed the income of course but I also needed the flexible hours to take my kids to school and pick them up. I still need the flexible hours as I still have a daughter in middle school. I dust all furniture, mop, vacuum, do bathrooms, change sheets, blinds, baseboards, kitchen. While cleaning for elderly people I also started taking care of them. On some days I clean and on other I am a caregiver. I don't have a certificate, as the caregiver job just happened because they needed it and they already knew me. I really enjoy working for elderly people and know that I am doing something good to help other people makes me happy. I am in the process of taking a caregiver course. Unfortunately I haven't been able to start it because I lost a big part of my income due to the death of someone where I got most of my income. I do some cooking, give them baths, take them to doctors appointments, take them shopping or shop myself, I prefer to work during day hours but will spend nights if needed.
