Janice K.

I connected with Janice through Care.com last year. Coincidentally, I learned she also takes care of a colleagues' child. I was hesitant seeking housekeeping help, because I felt guilty asking someone else to do something I didn't want to do. I never imagined someone like Janice. She is all heart, and loves bringing order and sparkle to, um, less-than-tranquil environments. She and I clean my house together, and I never imagined it could be a fun thing to do, but Janice makes it fun. She makes terrific suggestions on fixing problems that have vexed me for months, and is very helpfully proactive with suggestions on areas that may need a little attention. Once she asked if she could organize one of our closets, which I hadn't really noticed being a problem, but I trusted her judgment. After 20 minutes it was a picture of order and tidiness, and has remained that way (for the most part) in the months since, which still delights me when I see it. She also loves children and animals. My kids are also so happy when they get to see her. She asks them such interesting questions and listens so attentively to them. When I found Janice, I found more than some help around the house. She brings warmth, passion, humor, and -- an extra bonus -- connection to the local music scene!
